Tanzania has both rich and poor people, with diverse tribes and traditions. Overall, it’s a safe country where you’ll be treated respectfully. On your first day, expect a detailed briefing and a guided tour through Arusha to immerse yourself in the local culture.
The best airport is Kilimanjaro Airport. You need a visa to enter Tanzania, which can be purchased online for 50 USD, valid for 90 days. Please note: the volunteer visa requires specific documents from our organization!
Most people speak English, but knowing some Swahili words is helpful. We offer a Swahili course in-house for 10 €/hour.
For vaccinations, please consult your doctor. Most people get vaccinated for Typhoid or Hepatitis – a rabies vaccination is only mandatory for the animal welfare project.
