You might have less, but yet so much...
Located in East Africa, Tanzania boasts stunning wildlife and natural beauty. The primary language is Swahili, but many locals also speak English, and some even German and French due to tourism. The population is a mix of Christians and Muslims, with people who are friendly and grateful for life’s simple pleasures.
Contrary to stereotypes, not all Africans live in poverty or have large families. Tanzania has both rich and poor individuals, with diverse tribes and traditions. Overall, it’s a safe country where you’ll be treated respectfully. As a visitor, you’ll find the locals very welcoming. On your first day, expect a detailed briefing and a tour of Arusha to immerse yourself in the local culture.
The nearest airport is Kilimanjaro Airport. You will need a visa to enter Tanzania, which can be purchased online for 50 USD, valid for 90 days. It takes about 2-3 weeks to apply. Please note: the volunteer visa requires specific documents from our organization!
Most people speak English, but knowing some Swahili is helpful. We offer a Swahili course in-house for 10 €/hour.
We will provide information for the humanitarian visa once you book with us.
For vaccinations, please consult your doctor. Most people get vaccinated for Typhoid or Hepatitis, and rabies vaccination is mandatory for the animal welfare project.
